fair enough, i was only answering in relation to OPs question.. she's a huge superstar who lands massive contracts. It doesn't really matter how she lands them.

OPs question is kind of stupid and makes no sense. There is no "we are making a movie, fuck the plot just get x actor/actress" that just doesn't exist. The only area you could argue that is a thing is in action movies, in which case this thread should be called who is the biggest action star at the moment. The answer to that is the Rock.

Most movies casting the right person is the most important part, a drama or thriller with people who are cast just because of their name are doomed to fail.

Yes some movies are written around having certain actors, like all of Adam Sandlers shit he puts out, and look how well that works.

And having a big name also doesn't gaurantee success, I mean look at Ghost in the Shell. I personally liked the movie and thought Scarlett did a perfectly good job, it still bombed completely. Perfect example of why you can't name her for something like this.

Clearly Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsale have bigger pull than Scarlett Johansson, both underworld and resident evil did better than gits and they were way worse movies.

Either way, most of us seemingly decided to discuss who we think the best actors currently are.
