Still, would it have been so hard for Crixus to just give them one little "stroke cock you Roman cunt"?
Naevia was crying because she really did want a child, and a home, and all those good things. But she also wants Crixus, and in S2 she realized she couldn't have her cake and eat it too. But in that camp discussion, when Crixus left and she started crying, I took that to mean that part of her regretted taking the warrior's life.
By the way, I think Crixus' death was very fitting. Let's not forget his cruel episode 3-5 streak. I know people like to blame Naevia for that, because they love Crixus and need a scapegoat, but fact is, Crixus is still the one who led the slaughter. In fact, he even prompted that "gladiator" combat without being provoked by Naevia. And in the end, his intent was to just storm Rome and keep his cruel murderous streak going. The old Crixus would never dishonour his blade with an unworthy opponent, but now he has taken to killing women and children. One might say the gods punished him by sticking a Roman weapon in his back; the death he feared the most.
Overanalyzing yet again.
