What is your problem Newcastle? I know marvel is the best, but why do you keep bringing them up?

You don't disagree that Jon snow is traveling like he has a 120km car with him?

yea he's moving fast, move past it i guess - story is coming to an end and they've not many episodes left to tell it.

I wasn't the one who even started it. I was just agreeing with the other guy.

Eh it bothers me so much that Night king's army caught up to Bran, then Bran managed to flee, reached Winterfell etc. All while being useless. So Night King's army started marching same way

and they march, march, march, march ...

all while every other character is teleporting across continents and seas. Night King's army will only appear once it's convenient for the story, not when it makes sense at all. It would take months for certain characters to move across, but his army seems to be stuck in one place, even though they keep moving presumably faster than Bran ever could.

I'm pretty sure it will all be way better explained with more detail in the following book. Like someone mentioned, maybe the Night king is still gathering his army or waiting for full winter to hit so they get more powerful or for sea to get frozen so they can get around the wall..

Funny how lots of viewers got triggered by "teleport"..
It's been happening in previous seasons as well (varys from dorne to mareen in one episode etc). Even in the books I found timelines to be a bit confusing sometimes but how do you expect in a 7 episode season to fill the time gap of let's say Davos and Tyrions travel to Kings Landing from Dragonstone and back on a boat? For a tv show I'm ok if they skip the rowing part with details about what they eat and drink..

But each episode now they show the giant army marching and marching. I assume they know which way to go. It was outrun by a girl carrying a cripple and they didn't catch up in months it'd take to do all other travels, that part sucks.

Tbh first time I was triggered by teleport was the last episode of season 6. I was like.. wait a minute.. how did they get there to sail back?

At this point in the show so much happened and so much was different than in books I kinda lost hope for the books to ever be released

Yea.. Just read an article the other day about this. The white walkers have taken multiple seasons to March a few miles while other people travel from here to there to there and back again. The meme with the walkers sitting on their horses saying We'll just wait here until the other plots wrap themselves up, or something of that nature is so true.

But it is what it is. Still enjoy the show as much as anything else out there.

I imagine the night king either waits for his army to become big enough to climb over the wall using their dead bodies or for a sea to completely freeze and go around. If they just go with the story that it takes 10 times longer for them to reach to wall I'll be slightly disappointed..

The sea has been shown as frozen in the opening credits this season on either side of the wall. I think that's the most likely route past the wall. I don't see why they would go through the effort of changing something as simple as opening credits like that unless it has some meaning.

Plus the night king touched Bran, which likely destroyed the magic that had been keeping the wall protected once Bran crossed the wall.

bingo

The movement of the Walkers is a function of the seasonal cycles. The closer they are to the Long Winter, the further south they can travel. The show hasn't hit the dead of winter yet.

Plus we have no idea what his motivation is...

Also, that. Night King is not a mindless Walking Dead style zombie. His master plan is hundreds of years in the making. He knows that he needs to destroy the wall first, so the direction/speed of his troop movements are not important yet.

This. It's still not perfect, but a universe like Martin's being transferred to the screen is never going to be perfectly captured, it'd take dozens of seasons and it'd be too painfully boring for most of us to watch if they captured everything. I'm okay with how they're doing it. I just have to remind myself every once in awhile that while some of it may be idiotic, overall the show is enjoyable and letting some little shit go to enjoy it in it's entirety is well worth it.
