you still need a far bigger amount of force than a little kid can muster, especially from a lower angle, he would not have been able to exit the neck where he did without going through very tough stuff: big shoulder muscles and a ton of bones (spine, ribs, cartilage) I'd be ok if the stick went in somewhat, but not out... And then i'm already forgiving towards the stick being used on half a dozen skulls already.

From a storytelling perspective, I have no problem with the 3 adults debating what to do with the guy while the kid sneaks in and kills him. But the show failed to translate that story into a scene that made visual sense. It detracts from the entertainment value of the show. That climactic moment should have made me feel something other than the need to chuckle and roll my eyes at how unrealistic it looked. There were many ways they could have structured the position of the characters in the scene so that the kid could have been at neck-level while also obscured from the vision of the main characters.

This episode is starting out pretty good. They are actually starting to dig into things in a way that advances the plot.

Even though I think Carl dying is lame ... I just thought of another reason why they might do it: Maybe Riggs just isn't growing into the role. Kirkman said that TWD is really "Carl's Story". But for the show to follow the same path, they would need a real lead actor to carry the show. Someone who looks the part. AMC had to cast Carl without knowing how his appearance and acting talent would evolve as he got older. Kirkman doesn't have this same problem with the comics: he can draw Carl however he wants.

If Gimple is convinced that Riggs won't be able to be the Carl they need, it's actually smart to cut the cord sooner rather than later. The longer things evolved (ESPECIALLY between him and Negan) the harder it would get to deviate from the comics.

That kid is a shit actor tbh. I don't watch the show anymore but I'm glad he is gone from it. Hopefully he fades away from show business like so many other child actors tend to do.

I mean they don't have many episodes left and they are still doing almost only character development :/

Why did the leader of the garbage people all of the sudden get the ability to talk like a real person?

She always had it. Their manner of speaking was basically an act, just like Ezekiel. It's how they chose to live in the new world.

Simon wanted her to feel remorse, so he intentionally wanted her to live while slaughtering the rest of her people.

Decent episode. The Rick/Negan dialogue at the end was great. Negan trashing rick, playing mind games.

I was really hoping we would just get rid of the whole trash people side project, but i guess killing all but the Jadis or whatever will work. That story line was garbage, pun intended.

I'm wondering if Negan will find out about Simon's betrayal. I think Simon is a great actor/character and I'm glad he got a good amt of screen time.

Pretty good IMO. I didn't find myself wanting to change the channel this week.
