I'm forgiving of an episode that had some flaws considering there are other great episodes. The show is being forced to wind down with 7 eps per season, so they have to condense stuff.

I feel the opposite. They needed to push the plot forward, so they took some shortcuts by doing some stuff that didn't actually make perfect sense, but they needed to get this shit done.

The meeting at Dragonstone showed people agreeing that this mission was foolish. The people who are going are willing to risk everything because they need to convince Dany/Cersei the threat is real. Welcome to TV, where a group of heroes goes on a dangerous adventure and only a the highest paid actors return.
