agreed. They were literally in the middle of a battlefield and by the time they catch their breath it's over and the dotharki picking up weapons don't even notice them. Poorly done there.

But overall, the episode was slightly above average. The Gendry return was a bit rushed and the whole amassing of the party heading north felt too convenient, but this shit had to happen so I'm not going to hold it against the show too much.

The Winterfell stuff was super interesting. I'm gonna need a refresher on the context of the raven that Arya read. I'm almost thinking it was just a dud that Baelish grabbed to test if anyone was onto him.

The scroll that Arya read was the one that Cersei had Sansa write to Rob, asking him to surrender to Joffrey.

So basically, that message does not implicate Baelish at all. It only serves to increase the wedge between Sansa and Arya.

With the revelation of Jon being the legitimate son of Rhaegar..

Jon of the house Targaryen, the first of his name. King of the Andals and the First Men. Protector of the Seven Kingdoms.

Right?

Gilly revealing jon's not a bastard and sam is all "FUCK THE MAESTERS!!! FUCK THIS SHIT!! WE'RE OUT OF HERE!!!"

Dickon got roasted by Bronn last episode, and roasted by Drogon this episode. Nice.

Now we have the magnificent 7, westeros style.

Worst episode of the series yet. The plot holes are brutal, and the season was going great. The most identifiably person in Kings Landing just wanders around freely and breaks into the castle. They spend half the episode talking about how broken Cersei is, but then suddenly they have to kidnap a zombie to convince her, because they're desperate for her help?. I mean she has a zombie mountain beside her at all times ffs, how is a zombie going to get her interest. King Jon, the entire north at his command, decides to get ten guys and go meet the army head on, all to.. convince cersei I guess? Instead of sending anyone else, they mash together 2 big storylines in 2 minutes to send them out to face what they've literally been running from, for no real reason. Next episode will literally just be them outnumbered and running back towards the gate. Dani executes an enemy commander and Tyrion gets soft af and bitches at her in front of everyone.

Gendry. That fourth wall rowing meme Davos mentions was jarring. Then he's suddenly a main character, and has a ton of lines as he travels from Kings Landing to Dragonstone to Eastwatch. I mean the plan is literally to capture a zombie for some reason? Suddenly Jaime believes in white walkers? Fack this show has jumped the shark.

Wat... The whole point of bringing them one was because they don't believe it....

I also don't think you properly understand what jumping the shark even means.

I agree, in theory, with pretty much each point of your criticisms but the entirety of the episode was not as bad as you make it out to be. All the flaws you mentioned are inevitiabilities of a season that got cut to 7 eps. The Winterfell stuff was good so it helped redeem the episode somewhat.

Maybe you don't I think. 6.5 great seasons and this one episode derailed it all like crazy. They're literally kidnaping a zombie and risking their lives for Cersei's sake... assuming - suddenly and with no reason to - that she will be a reasonable person. It makes no sense. They've fucked the story. Cercei who hates her little brother, allowed him into the city? The strategist and hand of her enemy, and she lets him walk?

True, but I mean Bran sees incredible danger coming, let's the world know, and Jon, who is a king, only response is to lead a 10 man greeting party suicide mission? What the fack, none of it makes any sense.

it isnt for cersei's sake

its because if they go to war, there wont be enough people left to defend against the white walkers
