It's usually just a green prop that they change in post.

oh i c, but wat does oliver wear tat makes it look like the sword went thru him? does he just wear half a sword stuck in the front and back, and fix it up thru green prop?

I'm pretty sure the other half of the sword is entirely CGI.

guy kills thousand of people and can't even stab him to death seems legit, my local butcher would do a better job
