Just saw it. It was enjoyable. Not at good as tfa I think. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about it tbh.

Most of the issues people in this thread have are all non-issues that prove they just don't pay attention to films so I won't bother going over any of it.

It was a lot longer than I expected, and I think it could have been cut together better. The constant story switching killed the pacing so much (for me).

I think I personally would have rather they did the whole Rey on island thing, so you feel like time has passed, which makes fin waking up feel like it has been months of recovery not hours. Then switch to fin and his whole story then have Rey leave the island.

Reys parents being nobody important is 100% the best option imo. Everyone in star wars comes from nothing (except luke/leia and kylo). It is very much your "everyman" fantasy.

Snoke dying was lame, not much more to say about that tbh.

So “half” of people coming from nothing is everyone......try again.



There are plenty of complaints in this thread that are issues. Don’t try to be pretentious and downgrade people’s opinions. This movie has many flaws and it’s the general consensus of the public.....if you’ve been paying attention all weekend to all social media outlets.

Ok fine let's go over one of the biggest complaints.

Snoke.

Died without knowing who he was or anything. People are furious about that.

The thing is snoke doesn't fucking matter. The main villain has and will continue to be Kylo Ren. It is not the fault of anyone involved with the movie that fans had all these crazy theories about who snoke was. Spending basically 2 years hyping themselves up for some big reveal. Will we get any snoke backstory in the next movie or in comics? Maybe, maybe not, ultimately it does not matter for the story of the films. As someone else in this thread pointed out the original trilogy didn't really explore the Emperor as a character at all. Then he died at the end of episode 6.

Want me to go over anything else? I already addressed my biggest complaints but I'll be happy to address yours.

Just because they didn’t give much away with the emperor, doesn’t make it right to do it even more less with Snoke. It’s a horrible approach to the film.

You’re trying to say that less character development is better and you’re just wrong.

I love kylo’s character, but he isn’t a strong villain.
