Which was better? Or which did you like better?

We are not talking about everything here, there will allways be people that disagree with stuff that is good as proven such as the Holocaust for example. This topic however is not good as proven, it's up to the beholder to decide which is the best film because there is no good way of measuring the quality of a picture you keep claiming there is but you can't explain how it's done.
You haven't provided any decent examples of how you measure the quality of a film EXCEPT popularity and some other really vague suggestions, but when I call you out on it you agree that box office results is a poor way to measure how good a film is so im asking you again: How do you decide which is the best out of two films, what criterias do you use?

What it boils down to is this: If you can't scientifically prove something then it's not a fact, if it's not a fact you shouldn't pretend there's a right and wrong answer.

You can't prove art, it dosen't work.

Box office results only measure the number of people who go to a movie, i said you need to look at peoples enjoyment of the movie and the percentage of people who enjoyed it. ie If 50 people see a movie and love it its better than 10000 people with split opinion, although you run into a problem of sample size then
It's impossible for us to work it out accurately but it can be done so your initial statement saying that some things aren't better than other when it comes to movies is clearly wrong

and I think most people think the holocaust was bad, wth lol

Statistics are obviously above his level of comprehension, why even bother trying?

You want to punish people for not liking a film, really?

I'm gunna assume your age is around 11? 10?

You really need to get over yourself.
I made a joke and you got defensive? it's clear where your answer lies on the poll for you to start insulting people again.
With that being said, your stock in this discussion just bottomed out. Have a peachy day cupcake.

You guys are all acting like retards, in my personal opinion Troy is a dogshit film but it's definitly ok to prefer it over any other film, including Gladiator.

Stop being elitist over trivial things like taste in movies and let people enjoy what they enjoy.

Okay, I read pretty much everything written after this post of yours, so to boil it down on my point of view:

Troy vs Gladiator fight scenes:
1. Troy was presumptuous and cocky.
2. The leap in mid air lunge attack was pretentious and was put in there for entertainment.
3. Battle scenes from Gladiator were more realistic because of historical events, Troy was entertaining and also well thought out.

How did I come to the above statements, and why I found Gladiator better.

For over 10 years, I was in a re-enactment group [Praetorian guards], and I also ventured into other groups like "East-side Mercenary's'. During my time, I was
an instructor using swords, staves, axes, shields, polearms and spears etc... our weapons/armors etc were made authentically... not plastic. After Troy came out,
we had many people trying out that ridiculous move... it was a joke, they all soon learnt, that particular move was ineffective in combat.

End Note: I do like both movies, I just prefer Gladiator because I have worn the same gear, fought in battles like "last man standing" and battles in a shield wall formation, and
during those times... you get to know what works and what doesn't.

There may be two answers but this isn't a multiple choice question. Anyone that votes Troy needs to take a plane to switzerland and turn yourself in at the geneva convention for human rights violations.
