I'm throwing ideas out. Maybe instead of being a douche bag and calling people dumb you should use your head and realize that.
For all we know they could stretch the next books content over 2-3 seasons.
Before you get your narrow minded patriot colored panties twisted just remember these are just ideas being thrown at a wall.
I get how you could think that given Bran's absense but from a narrative standpoint its impossible. Here's why:
-Melisandre and Davos are both at the wall, you would need to hold back their plots as well for an entire season. (not impossible but makes it harder)
-the general outcry at a cliffhanger left unexplained (this imo would be too great an obstacle)
-the focus on the show has shifted majorly up north due to the coming white walkers, you would need to hold back that entire plot in order to hold back jons plot
-the show writers have already budgeted and signed contracts for 7 seasons, while the could of course try to push to 8 i dont believe they want to, and it would still be a stretch to hold off jons storyline until book 6 comes out
-the showrunners have already spoiled quite a few storylines, meaning that holding back jons would be biased to a single storyline when they have already spoiled others (like Tyrion who hasnt reached Dany by the end of book 5)
all of this could of course be ignored by D&D and they could do it anyways, but the story would suffer so much that i doubt HBO would let them.
