They'd lose a LOT of their viewers if they killed off someone insignificant like Eugene. It's 100% a major character.

The guy explains it pretty good. I see your argument about Rosita/Eugene but I think they intentionally did a few things on purpose to 'trick' viewers. Footsteps, the way the song was really weirdly said not in tune. The small things.

Plus the fact that Carl is on the right of the victim from Negan's view, so at the very least Eugene is definitely not it.

I agree they intentionally did things to trick viewers. That's why, after analyzing the scene frame by frame, I've decided that there is no meaningful resolution we can reach from a frame-by-frame analysis.
