I personally can live with most spoilers because for me it isn't the summary/concise details that matter, it's the experience of watching and how everything is actually presented (visuals, audio, etc. combined)
So some random text is irrelevant, a trailer that shows full length and important scenes would suck though

Still it's pretty douchey since some people do it just to grief others

Spoilers don't bother me, I just then look for that stuff happening.

Even with all the spoilers in the world, there is always more to grasp from the books/show. You should see some of the hints Martin gives in his novels (and there are even some crazy hints in the show). There are ASOFAI forums where people write 20 page thesis papers on popular "theories" while providing at least 80x direct quotes from the book as well as 20+ external references.

Some people like spoilers (my Mom because she would be reading the books but doesn't have time). Others don't (all my friends that don't read the books) because they feel it takes away from the experience, for example, when watching a character "almost die" that they know isn't going to.

To each is their own. Still, this isn't a book discussion forum, so spoilers don't belong.
