It was Lisa Joy's (Nolan's wife) directorial debut, which is weird because if anything the episode stood out because it seemed like it was directed by a great veteran director. It had a totally different feel than any other episode in the series in a good way. Plus this scene might be my favorite of all time

Ed Harris is the fucking man. He is absolutely killing it this season.


the scene (and the corresponding flashbacks before) where Bernard and Elsie find the trashed Bunker with James Delos was brilliant, gave me chills. I just love how they did that whole series of flashbacks showing William's effort of "stabilizing" James Delos, that Rolling Stones song "Play With Fire" in the beginning (or wherever it was) was such a brilliant choice, song was stuck in my head after I watched that episode lol.

of course, not my point at all. I was certain they weren't going to be able to get the actor back, and had to do this sort of multi-layered voice thing the whole way.

I'm right with you. I thought for sure they wouldn't have Hopkins back on the show. I thought they'd do the voice only and possibly have a younger actor play him via a host.

I was waiting for some huge reveal because it seemed like it was leading up to one with Bernard searching through Sweetwater and it did not disappoint.

also, anyone pick up on the dolores wet dress? I didn't, but read about it (The Ringer, Reddit).

I think I need to rewatch s02e01 now lol. this show is fucking mindblowing.
