Thought I was pretty clear about me only insulting you after you did the I'm right, you're wrong thing and then followed it up with personal attacks...
It's kind of a problem to find you credible when you're just interpreting what I say however you want and responding to that interpretation, even if it's flat out wrong. That's some Trump level narcissistic shit right there.
Look man, I'm done with the conversation. Just because some people on YouTube agree with you, that doesn't make you right. I know plenty agree with me as well, and that's without looking it up and using other people's arguments as my own (like you do). We're not going to agree on this. You also came after me out of the blue and stopped talking to the person who disagreed with you on every level, and went for the guy mostly agreeing with you besides one actually completely irrelevant thing. You're just looking for a fight and being right to you is the only thing that matters. The movie was fucking awful and I hated it, but the plot and the movie as a whole made sense. It had problems like 99.99% of movies do, but if these are genuinely the type of things that make a movie not make sense for you, I don't know how it's even fucking possible for a movie to make sense in your eyes.
Best of luck with raging at people who are mostly in agreement with you in the future, I'm sure we will do this again before too long.
Post 44 aka your post was the first one throwing an insult out buddy. I'm also pretty sure I haven't insulted you once.
I didn't say the movie was hard to follow, as a simple on paper concept it is extremely simple that is obvious. What doesn't make sense is how the characters act, why they do things they do. The character motivation/personality doesn't match the actions. Not to mention all the fan service that is shoved in with no regard for the rest of the script. There are also some casting choices that are legitimately a mystery. Like why cast a 30 year old as an old man instead of an actual old man. That make up and his movements where do fucking bad. Did they really think that a stupid viral marketing video was worth shitting all over the quality of the actual movie?
Why did the old man even fund the mission in the first place? Ok yeah like 70% the way through the movie you learn it is because he didn't want to die. That's bad writing, having the movies motivation so late but fine it is there at least. And this movie was made in the middle of the "every movie needs a twist!" era so whatever. I also won't get into how he was even able to fund the mission when he has a BoD to answer to.
But why did he have to hide? He could have kept his true motivation a secret without hiding he was there. I mean if I spend a bunch of money to find a space flight to contact aliens there is no way I'm not going.
The reason this doesn't make sense is because we are not given any motivation for his actions. A simple scene saying "the ship doctor would never agree to you coming, no we can't replace her she is the best person for the position because she has a background in x thing (this simple scene would make 2 aspects of the movie go from nonsensical bad writing to making perfect sense as it would also explain why she was experimenting on the alien head instead of waiting for the actual scientist they brought along in order to fucking study the aliens)" or " the board would not allow it" would make the decision make sense but nothing like that happens so it doesn't.Why was there a shrine to xenomorphs? Or why did the movie end with a proto-xenomorph? Either these events created xenomorphs (which is what the end of the movie alludes to) or the xenomorphs already exist (which is what the shrine indicates) having both in the film actually doesn't make any sense whatsoever other than to be fan service.
How about the medical pod? Why does it say it only works for men? Do you not realize how fucking stupid that is? It's not like men and women are drastically different. Plus why would it only work for men? Especially if it is in the private quarters of a woman? Ok yeah it is probably meant for her dad but why not have it say it only works for one person? Or say it wasn't programmed with birthing operations? You know something that would actually make sense. And if it does only work for men (which I just have to say again how absurd that is) why did it operate on the woman anyways? You mean to tell me this sophisticated piece if medical hardware is unable to determine gender?
Obviously the answer to everything can be simplified into "because movie" but that isn't what I'm trying to argue.
Edit: also why was there no skeleton crew? They brought trained mercenaries to protect them yet no one thinks keeping watch might be a good idea? You know the very basic thing that people have been doing for thousands of years? If we are on an unknown possibly hostile alien planet, let's all ditch the bridge and go to bed at the same time I'm sure nothing will go wrong right? I mean it's not like trained people should know about these basic safety measures right?
