Persia was watchable, not good. But really, that game had a weak and convoluted story to begin with, not a great title to adapt from the get go. Last Airbender was M. Night Shyamalan, aka one of the worst directors who got famous because of one above average movie and then idiots kept giving him work.... Dragon Ball was another idiotic idea, they hired someone who knew nothing about DBZ, who openly apologized for writing the screenplay solely for the money without knowing ANYTHING about it and ofc AOT was shit, it's a Japanese anime adaption, those are always shit. I still believe that someone will hit it eventually and actually make this shit work. They just need to hire a writer/director who are actually passionate fans of the franchise and go from there.
Like I said, don't think it will happen. I'd love to see some of my favorite things done well on the big screen. But with practical effects essentially gone, and script writers that care more about making the same bullshit action/love triangle script over and over just set in a different world, I don't have much hope for big budget films anymore.
Indie has been making some great films lately though so at least there is that.
