Why don't you tell us exactly why you believe RT ratings don't mean shit.

because most people don't know how to rate things and an average of inaccuracies provides you with an inaccurate metric, if i give a movie a 1/10 and someone a 10/10, is that movie now objectively a 5/10 based on its average?

Most people are able to use their judgement after reading reviews or looking at ratings.

Reviews and ratings are meant for general consensus purposes. It doesn't mean you should live by them and let them dictate what you do, what you buy and how you buy it.

You're making this way more complicated than it is in reality.

If you look on any review site, you will find a nice, simple, easy to follow trend that terrible movies are scored low, good movies are scored high, and general entertainment are scored in between. Wow, it's not that hard!

You are not special and I don't believe that you don't look towards reviews as general guidence in any of these categories.


It's a good thing to sometimes let reviews guide your judgement. For example, a high scoring pizza resturaunt is about 30 minutes from my house. I would have never given this place my time if it wasn't scored highly. To my Benefit, the pizza is delicious.

i'm not talking about reviews, i'm talking about ratings, that's my whole point and what we already discussed is that a review is objective and subjective, of course i have used reviews in decisions
