why can't people accept other opinions though? i take it you love this movie? that's fine with me...
why assume everyone who doesn't like the movie or thinks its bad is measuring it up to Kubrick? simply wouldn't be fair on any other film ever made!

Because the opinion is the same fucking thing with every fucking movie.

"Hurr durr, I saw it and it was bad because this and that and this and that".

Over and over and over.

The only movies they think are good are the couple few made by the same couple of guys and they only say those movies were good because important people said they were good. It's a joke.

Movies are for entertainment and the last Hobbit movie did really well in that department. You're allowed to not like the movie, but give reasons that seem to come from you personally (this post isn't directed at you personally, it's meant for every little pretentious fuck who thinks spewing out someone else's opinion is better than to just admit you enjoyed a movie).

There are tonnes of very good movies that come out every year man, you know this. People have fav's sure - i have many guilty pleasure that are probably fucking terrible films
yea i totally agree that often people dislike a movie for the sake of disliking a movie because it puts them on a pedestal, makes them different and implies they are superior... the same can be said for masses of people loving movies which get far too much credit because of a directors previous success or because some magazine/tv advert tells you its amazing.

The hobbit was dreadful and i mean dreadful, my own opinion. It feels like a simple story has been too far stretched to make 3 movies as a more direct prequel to lotr, its not the hobbit. again just my opinion, and just because you may have read elsewhere that others may or may not share a similar opinion doesn't mean its not my own lol, doesn't mean its right either, doesn't mean its wrong. we are, after-all discussing movie taste in an internet forum.

what gets me, is people get so mad that others do not share taste? get over it

Your entire opinion is based on that line, which is why your opinion is wrong, in this case.

Let's assume the first part of your response is correct then.

Why? Because of tolkeins other literature? That's not The Hobbit?

Having opinions are fine. I tend to have differing opinions on some subjects so I can't judge others or get mad at them. What I CAN get mad about is people who feel the need to act like they disliked something, because they think they're gonna sound smart and be "above" others.

are you saying that your sole basis for the movie being bad is that it includes additional legitimate storylines (written by the author of the hobbit...) that aren't found in the hobbit book?

...that annoys me...it's like someone writing a research paper that is based on one body of evidence...the movie is better because it expands on the book using legitimate information provided by the author

Why should it even concern you?

Yet you act like ravenous lunatic with accusations and quick judgements. If anything, based on this topic it seems like the ones enjoying this film are thinking that the ones who don't enjoy it are below them.

Is it really that impossible that someone didn't think it was good?
Demystification and cartoonish disney approach made this wasted opportunity but even by this standard I though this didn't have any flavour: It wasn't abysmal or unbearable, but a really indifferent and routine execution.

Is it just me or does 48fps make these look like a soap opera?

I've never met / seen this kind of people.

I dislike it because it was an embarrassment to one of my all time favorite novels. It was also a let down compared to the LOTR series (movies), why would you switch in shitty looking CGI for everyone over what they already had?

Not really... making Gandalf (a god) look like a scared, old and foolish man is just insulting.
