ok, this explanation is something I can use to get to my point.
Morgan wrote 'here's not here' on things before the room/door metaphor had been introduced into his consciousness.
I'm having a hard time connecting what Eastman meant when he said the phrase to what Morgan meant when writing originally (before they met).
The story gave us the impression that Eastman was teaching Morgan. Either Morgan already knew the lesson, or that phrase meant something different to him at he beginning.
