Also the rest of the walkers in the alley are irrelevant, only ones that matter at the moment are the ones around him.

Not to mention the entire episode was like a throwback to the first time Rick met Glenn. Rick in an impossible situation, surrounded by a horde on all sides, with a tank to crawl under. Low and behold, there's a hatch and glenn on the walkie talkie.
Except in Glenn's situation there is absolutely nowhere to run, he is already on the ground with a dead body on top of him, and 15-20 zombies on top of that.
The only thing I can see is he either hides in the dumpster, or somehow climbs the fence and onto the roof of that building. How he escapes to even make it that far though...
