It feels more real that way. If I was a character in that fantasy world, sitting int he audience, I would SEE that gore. It should shock people, but it's still necessary imo.

You know they did something right when book readers that knew what was coming had chills throughout their whole body by the end of the episode. This makes me intrigued to see if the last 2 episodes can stimulate a similar reaction :P.
