The most unrealistic part of ricks plan is the make them walk 20 miles part, besides that it's fine. Your plan is flawed as well. How are you going to move thousands of zombies up on a cliff to have them fall to their deaths? The hoard is massive. You will get a fraction where you want th to be but the vast majority will still be unmoved still in the pit.
Not to mention any hope of a plan like this would likely have collapsed on itself after the semi fell.
Rick's plan - lead them 20 km
My plan - lead them 1/2 a km
Rick's plan - Zero end plan - just hope they keep walking
My plan - Lead them to where 95% are dead or mangled by falling off a cliff (that kid almost fell off the cliff, plus those zombies chasing him did, it wouldn't take much incentive for a horde to simply walk off the cliff - like a screaming animal on the end of a pole) - they aren't logical in the least - they see something they want and they just run for it. That one zombie at the end who bit that guy in the cheek - he was stuck in a tree- like how stupid do you have to be when your outwitted by a tree? They eat brains, because they don't have one.
-Still unmoved in the pit? Well we know that they can be lead by using sight and sound - plus they got them all to follow, didn't they? So really that's not unreasonable.
