He may have went out to die, but his cowardice spurred him to react. The established character is that he's a coward, he'll run and hide and let every one else get killed. That's what happened to his congregation, that guilt is what sent him out there in the first place. He didn't go out there with the intent to leave the gate open, he was in shock on the way back and wasn't paying attention.

Now fast forward to the horn blowing. That's a premeditated action that's completely out of character for him.
While there's a slight chance that he did it, it wouldn't make much sense for him to endanger himself like that after he fought so hard to kill that walker in the end.

Comparing a botched suicide attempt that spurred him into survival mode to a premeditated action that would ultimately kill everyone? I'm not feeling it.

because a new walloff would not solve the problem, but just make it bigger. neither blockade was solid, the 2 trucks in v-shape weren't exactly zombieproof and the truck on the ledge fell after all. You wouldn't want an army at your doorstep that swells further over time. The wall option would be more viable if the issue wasn't that pressing.
As for the horn, they didn't know where it exactly came from and i'm sure in a zombiepocalypse, you're not going to lure mobs of them to you all the time, testing horns all the time to find it!

Insane for someone to think that during the zombie apocalypse all members of Rick's group would be immune to the effects and toil of mental health, when every member of that group has basically suffered from it at one point including Rick himself? And really, everyone is a little nuts whether it's Rick's group or the community people. One of my favorite movies is After Hours by Martin Scorsese and there is this line in it I love where this bartender says "Different rules apply , cause you know -Its after hours.", and this show is about life way way after hours.

so after the truck fall did half go out the back and half to the front? im pretty sure the cliff fell so they cant walk up it now...

a wall would have worked they had the time to line up 100s of cars a blockade of that size could have been rebuild

w/e im not going to argue it ricks play was horrible and the chances of it working would be pretty low

Napalm/something similar (Molotovs) would have been the only way to deal with the zombies other than lead them away.
