Yea i really didn't get the ressler + samar thing either.
Loved it when Tom showed up at Cooper's house! lol
One of the dumbest things the show has done so far, which says a lot imo.
It was just irritating, and a painful way to end an already painfully boring episode.
Anyways, looking forward to the finale, I'm hoping they just slow played this one because they're saving everything good for next week.
Edit - The brother thing was terribly obvious, called it the second she talked about her brother being dead. The Director torturing Solomon and everyone seeing that as concrete proof of his innocence was just ludicrous... First off, there was no evidence whatsoever to support the claims made by an emotional unstable wreck who'd say anything to keep the delusion alive to himself of Elizabeth being innocent (Obviously not what we as a viewer sees, but what anyone else above him should most certainly be seeing/thinking by now). So, the Director going to lengths of torturing Solomon the way he did and then just releasing him without anyone batting an eye was completely retarded. How is that not going to only raise suspicions against himself and Solomon? Dismissing the claims entirely would be the more likely, reasonable, and believable route... I understand they need to make the show dramatic, but adding idiotic scenes like that weaken the entire episode.
The other major letdown of this season was the MASSIVE buildup on the plan Red had begun to weaken the director. This plan spanned across multiple episodes, involved multiple key people and Red made it sound as though it was a surefire way of completely destroying the Director and clearing Keen. I'm sure it'll come into play later, but stealing millions of hidden money from a guy who logically should be made of money, doesn't really seem to make much sense. An executive in the CIA makes nearly 200k a year... meaning the Director is most likely clearing what? 300-500k a year legally from the US Government? This isn't counting the assuredly absurd amounts he's making from his illegal activities. If there wasn't money involved, he wouldn't be fucking doing it. Millions should be considered chump change to a man as powerful as this. To think he'd need to steal anything is also pretty fucking laughable, but whatever.
Regardless of all of that, the season has been good and I'm enjoying it a great deal. I have once again been impressed with Spader and Eggold is easily the second best character and actor on the show imo. I'm incredibly excited for the finale and I hope they don't let us down. I'm not positive, but I believe the show has already been renewed for another season. I hope they can find a logical conclusion to the story and give us some fucking closure either next season or the following season. This show is going to lose momentum in the near future, and hopefully they have the foresight to end it on top. That would at least leave them open to do a prequel about Elizabeth's mother or even just some of Red's endeavors. I'm not fond of either of those ideas, but it'd be smarter on their end than just letting the show turn to shit and everyone losing interest lol.
Edit - I know, tldr, holy wall of text, etc....
Summarized version - They've fucked up a lot on things this season, but it's still been enjoyable and it still has a lot of potential. I'll give it at least another season and I hope it either ends next season or it sees one more after that.
