He was an asset mostly but also a liability... Carol has some minor medical skills, and maybe Morgan has a bit knowledge... damn, even Darryl was amazed that Morgan new what
to use to keep the mosquitos away from him [when he was tracking him]... and of course they lost him. :D ... well maybe not amazed, but he thought the guy new his stuff.

You and most likely a lot of us that have not read the comics. Can't wait either.

They weren't following Morgan? I thought it was the red poncho guy that was killed after

The Red Poncho guy got his throat slit at the fence where Daryl and The gay dude sorry forgetting his name got swarmed by zombies. They are called the Wolves. I know almost everything about this show. Morgan took training from an old 90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle to learn how to use a stick like that lmao.

I just finished watching that episode [S02E12... 11m.22s].

"I made a mess of things, I put you and Rick at odds, I don't even know who's baby this is.
I can't imagine how hard that is on you. You lead us out of Atlanta with no thought for yourself.

Do you remember that night? The flames... and I'm sitting in your car thinking, we're going to be
all right. He's gonna make it all right. We'll get out of here. And I never thanked you for that.
Even though things got... confused between us, you were there for me. You were there for me, thank you.

Whatever happened between us, whatever the hell we thought it was, and not just you... but, I'm sorry, Shane
Please believe me, I am so sorry." [Actual words from that scene]

All she is doing is saying thank you for saving me, sorry for being the instigator to your rivalry with Rick. Sorry
for being in love with Rick and not you. It was a confusing time for me, you saved me then. [My interpretation]

Shanes' interpretation... he only heard the words he wanted to hear.
"I messed up" / "The baby is yours" / "You are my knight in shining armor for rescuing me" / "I'm confused"
"What happened between us, I wanted it, I am sorry, so sorry" [My assumption]

Know matter what, Shane was in love with Lori, and he could not handle losing her to Rick, on top of that, he was losing respect from
the people HE RESCUED and kept alive before Rick came along.

Not saying your interpretation is incorrect... considering it is yours, I just see it in a different way, and it is also my past knowing people
in similar situations [in the real world] reacting the same way, not to the extreme though.

Your interpretation is what I was implying ( if I'm following you correctly)...that Lori was the catalyst for Shane's impulsive plan to kill rick by admitting to her own mixed feelings

I would say that calling her the 'catalyst' is too strong a word for it, but she was sort of an enabler.

First of all, it didn't take very long after hearing Rick was dead for her to open her legs and let Shane deposit his seed inside her womb. We didn't see exactly how things progressed between them, so I'm sort of just filling in the blanks with my best guess. Regardless what happens after that, she kind of has some responsibility for the way Shane feels towards her.

Secondly, the impression she's putting out to Shane is that if, by chance, Rick were to get bit by a random zombie at any time, she'd go right back to being all over him. She's almost keeping him on the back burner by acting like Rick being alive is the only thing keeping them apart. Doing this to an aggressive type guy at a time when things are crazy does not exactly calm the situation.

I honestly think that Lori wasn't sure who was better for her and Carl, but choosing Rick was just the easier, more natural choice. If you boil it down to primal human instinct, letting Rick and Shane fight to the death is actually a logical fair solution.

If Lori wasnt there, it wouldn't have happened. If Lori didn't say the things she said, when she said them, I have my doubts Shane would have acted as he did, at the time he did. I would go as far to say "catalyst" is too meek a word to describe Lori's effect on the dynamic.

Anyway you are entitled to your own view too :)

The funny thing you guys are really missing... season 1 where Shane had his rifle aimed at Rick and held it there. Shane had the intentions there and then, before the mention of Lori being pregnant or before season 2 episode 12. As far as Lori was concerned, Rick was dead, by Shanes' own words... Rick was not coming back, and she felt greatful for Shanes' help... so she slept with him, she wasn't doing anything wrong, she probably thought that being with Shane was in a way being with Rick, since those two were great friends. Remember, she always loved Rick, even in season one, removing her necklace was out of respect and also hard for her.
