that part was necessary and couldn't have been any better, dragons that have metal skin and burn castles to the ground is some harry potter shit not game of thrones... the dragon is obviously still young it was actually awesome that he took some damage, i was very nervous and thought he was going to get killed. her jumping on was a little retarded but the people on all the forums complaining about the dragon getting speared and shit is retarded... what you want some fucking invincible dragon like some lotr or harry potter type shit? naw we ain't breaking out some Avada Kedavra in this story its gotta be "realistic" to some degree the dragon wasn't going to die in the slightest but it shows that it can be injured. I think someone said it earlier or it was another forum but it humanizes the dragon.

Actually the dragons will have metal type skin eventually and will be near invincible , they just aren't fully grown yet.

The dragon part was good, it was realistic in the fact that it was young, it also holds truth that dragons can die, just like their predecessors died, thus they
are the only 3 living dragons around.

I can gather or assume from the statement from Khalessi, that she is going to burn the City to the ground, as stated when talking with her so called future hubby.
Hence her reason to get on the Dragon and fly off, most likely going to get her other 2 Dragons, regroup her armies and slaves and burn the city... well, i guess
it would be something that I would do... if they kept on trying to assissinate me, fuck the city... destroy it and keep my true followers safe.

My memory may be failing me, but I can't think of an instance from the books where it talks about a dragon from having been killed in battle by enemy soldiers throughout the history of Westeros. The way that dragons are spoken of, they are pretty much regarded as the medieval equivalent of nuclear weapons.

I'm not saying the show is factually incorrect or that I disagree with their decision to portray Drogon like that. I thought the scene was adapted just fine. It did however, deviate from the spirit of what dragons represent in peoples' minds.
