One of the reasons Kirkman said he created the Governor was to show what Rick could have become. The Governor is what Rick would be if he abandoned his humanity, simply taking things by force and viewing people as expendable.

Glen's comment at Terminus "This is still us, right?" is crucial in understanding how the group functions. Rick's group could have become the people at Terminus. They could have become like the Governor if they followed Shane. It permeates through all of them. Even Daryl catches a glimpse of what he and Merle could have become when he's with the group of men that tries to rape Carl.

Now, finally at Alexandria, this shit is catching up to them. So far, they haven't raped, stole, and murdered everything not because it would be too hard and compromise their morals, but because it would be too easy. It would make the group weak.

If the show is still following the comic, then we're about to meet a group just like Rick's...harder than nails in a coffin with an intimate knowledge of how to survive.

The point is that Rick is starting to arrive at a crossroads. He knows how easy it would be to protect Carl and Judith by taking over Alexandria. He knows he could surpass the Governor in power. He's hunted cannibals, lived under siege, and killed his best friend. Now, he has to make the choice between his own humanity or the fate of humanity.

no reason? The stress of having to lead a group in an apocalypse is the reason they've been developing for 4 seasons.

The whole point of this is to show his craziness coming out

Maybe when they were on the outside but this is probably the safest they've been since the apocalypse started.

Sure he thinks that Alexandria is doing things wrong and it'll hurt them eventually but I didn't really expect him to go that crazy that fast.

If his character is just going to get crazier from now on, then I understand, but it was a big jump from a character who I thought was still relatively level-headed before this last episode.

Throw yourselves in the shoes of the Alexandria residents, imagine how Rick and his group appear to you.

They are stealing guns, breaking rules, showing signs of insanity and aggression. I'm not saying Alexandria is doing it right, but from their perspective Rick is becoming a problem. You invite a guest into your home and now they are making asses of themselves.

Michonne knows they need this, Rick's group is split in half, some of them are really trying to make it work, but are failing because Rick and company are creating tension. Thus Michonne shut Rick the fuck up

Meant to say pulling guns on people, Alexandrians wouldn't know about the stolen guns other than that kid

Yea, and the fact that Rick is unable to make that distinction is what his craziness is all about.

He wants Jesse, but he doesn't know how to get her. He mistakenly thinks that killing his competition is the way to do it.

He loves the walls, but he doesn't know how to take advantage of being inside them. He brings the danger inside because it's all he knows now.

And most of all, he fails to realize how important the stability of the walls and community are for his baby, he is risking everything. They were barely alive when they were brought in

Putting on their shoes is a great comment, now think of it this way, what civilization are you all talking about? The one we live in now? The one that should not be foresaken because of our current understanding of what civilization is?

Personally I don't condone the way Rick pulled a gun out and waved it at the other people, but, I can understand why.
The rules/laws of the previous civilization does not exist anymore, BUT, they should change for the circumstances that
are there. Deanna is living in a dreamworld for now, BUT, it does NOT mean that it is the end.

As for the mentality of other people, how they are protrayed as losing a part of themselves comes from their understanding
of what civilization meant [past tense] before... they had a glimpse of it while being in the Prison, then it was taken away
from them, then there were the cannabilistic group they encountered, where their hopes got destroyed... now this, something
that resembles a chance... what else is going to happen? Shit, I would lose my mind also... :D

I can understand a lot of what people are posting, but, I think Carol is a bit more lost in the head than Rick, she is the one
actually manipulating Rick by her comments.

I think it's a great callback to the conversation Dale held at the farm in S2 when they were deciding what to do with the injured kid they had. What kind of humanity are we settling on here?

And Terminus touched on it again. When their motto (In this world, you are either the butcher or the cattle) was presented, the group seemed to reject it. Now, a few people are actually moving a little bit in that direction.

Yup, I guess I am a bit more colder and calculated in some areas. Thing is this, if a person is crippled, it does not mean I would intentionally kill them, they would have to prove that they can help/work with the people around them.
Yet again, if the person is a quadraplegic, I would put them out of their suffering. Mind you, you don't really see any unturned Quadraplegics.

Both Deanna & Ricks teams' need to come to a middle ground, Deanna has a goal, as grand as it is, it is a dream, as for Rick, he needs to trust more, but still remain on his toes.

Rick is acting perfectly. He was attacked, he responded. Don't fuck with anyone in rick group if you know what's best for you.
