Forgive me if i'm sounding argumentative, i'm not trying to be. To Jon Snow, Dragon glass is the only thing he cares about regarding Dany. To him, it seems to be enough to forge an alliance over. He did piss off all his banner men, risk his life, and travel a great distance just for the possibility to mine it. Seems important enough for him to make agreements over.

Jon also cares about leaving Dragonstone without bending the knee to Dany. He wants to retain his claim as King in the North. Getting the dragonglass + bending the knee are terms on which Jon will not accept an alliance (so far, we'll see who changes their mind).
