Honestly I'd rather rewatch 4 over 2 or 3.
I’d put them about equal, but I’ll admit that I’m much more critical these days, so it’s possible 4 was superior and I’m not remembering everything about them accurately.
But far as my complaints for this film
The acting was bad throughout, from pretty much everyone.
The story was a muddled mess with pointless or obvious plot devices throughout that came across as fucking lazy. Like Niobi being opposed to the literal second coming of God and trying to lock him in a cell to create some type of conflict, that’s just instantly ignored and tossed to the wayside.
The scene with the Merovingian was holy fucking cringe.
And why the fuck would they bring back Smith? I understand the reasoning (as half assed as it was) for Neo/Trinity, but it’s utter nonsense that they’d also put the greatest threat to their existence into the same damn simulation with the dude who made him a threat to begin with.
And none of that even comes close to how lazy and boring the ending of “Oh, Trinity is just as powerful as Neo too”, which to be fair, was super fucking obvious from the trailers.
Movie should have never been made, just like 2/3.
