In every other star trek series there has always been the rational carefull voice on the bridge in the form of a mcCoy keeping Kirk in check, a Tuvok for Janeway, a Dax for Cisko and in TNG even a wide range of specialists on the bridge making Picard almost seem nothing more than their puppet. After seeing the first episodes, i see the captain being that voice and all the advisors mumbling idiots...

The Klingons are a joke compared to previous lore, almost unrecognizeable in line with their appearance!

Can't help but think this is going nowhere really fast as unreasonable superhuman stuff needs to happen at this point already to make something of the remaining character(s) that would result in something worthy of my watch.

In short, i find the start of the series rather weak and not promising at all, feel free to disagree, in fact, i welcome disagreement

Talk about how every series has x character type, seems upset it is missing from new series (correct?).

Gets upset about Klingon appearance despite the Klingons changing in basically every Trek movie/series.

Hmmm.

Klingons were roughly the same in:

-ds9
-tng
-enterprise

and there was a reasonable explanation why in the OS they had no cranial ridges, what are you on about? changed all the time? what have you been smoking?

The writers said the different Klingon appearance would be explained.

Klingons have looked different basically ever iteration. Saying "what are you talking about they looked roughly the same" proves my fucking point.

Plus this is like a good few years before any other star trek canon, and Klingons in discovery are fucking obsessed with staying pure and not mixing with the federation. Doesn't take a fucking genius to figure out what is going to happen.
