No. The movie pretty much covered the first war (first warcraft game) and didn't even touch world of warcraft.

idk from the trailer it looked alot like world of warcraft major cities, i never played warcraft so i can't tell.

Where do you think those cities come from? Warcraft 1-3 lore.

Because a general audience knows more about good films than people who critic films for a living.

Maybe I'd consider it if it wasn't at a fucking 22% rofl.

Yeah when I go to the movies I go with my friends or my wife...

They're audience...

I laugh and react of a movie with the audience, I don't give a damn about professional critics

what a shitty profession lol

I like good movies.

But to each his own. I'm not saying you won't like it. I guess my standards are just higher is all.

Quite possibly the biggest bullshit hipster statement I've ever seen on jsp.

Why don't you pat yourself on the back for being so much better than everyone.

Average to those that like fantasy.
Those that like and paid attention to the lore of the game enjoyed it.
Critics who don't know a damn thing about it obviously didn't enjoy it, but of course their opinions mean fuck all, so there's that.

Can't wait to see how they do tides of darkness + beyond the dark portal, mount hyjal and the frozen throne.

Haven't seen it and probably won't either.

But I feel a movie should stand on its own merits. If enjoyment can only come from knowing the lore (which is not explained in the movie), then calling it trash isn't that strange.

For example, let's say they make a TES movie. If only the people that know the lore can enjoy it, I'd consider the movie a failure. Btw, big TES-fanboy here.

Failure can mean different things for different movies. In Warcraft's case, critics are gonna hammer it but it is going to perform spectacularly in international markets all summer long and therefore earn a sequel. I think that qualifies as success for this case, though another movie like The Martian would have been evaluated in completely different ways.
