People keep complaining about power up times and fillers for the original dragon ball z episodes. It was a combination of the fact that Japan had no concept of seasons and just aired new episodes continuously paired with the fact that episodes came out as the manga was written.

That's no easy task. They branched out and even created entirely new characters just to fill air time. Like that martial arts tournament in heaven with Pikon (who ended up being in one of the dragon ball z movies). They even made kid boo teleport there.

I have all 42 books at home and even tho they're awesome on their own, a lot of the filler content was really enjoyable to watch on the show. Long power ups were a necessity to avoid getting ahead of the books and they got cut out almost entirely on Dragon Ball Z Kai. It's not like they meant to power up forever.

I grew up with dragon ball, it's my lil baby. This new show is going to be fucking amazing. Especially if they travel to other universes after the events of RoF.

I think people are just poking fun at it in reflection. I remember being absolutely glued to every single episode that came out, tape recording every episode. My brother was in charge of taping one of the episodes and he hated the toonani robot so he would constantly stop/record to make sure that toonamibot wasn't included. It was the episode where piccolo fought stage 2 Frieza and I didn't get to watch it because he fucked up. Was pissed for a long time about that

Plenty of shows are better dubbed. Only elitist assholes living in denial would say otherwise. It's the same for Subbed > Dubbed, some subs are better.

People just need to accept that there is no right answer. FMA, Deathnote, DBZ, and Hellsing Ultimate just to name a few off the top of my head that the dub is FAR superior to the sub version lol.

Anyways, keep lying to yourself.

As someone who grew up with dbz dub and later rewatched with sub I can honestly say I like the sub better. I don't know how anyone can say they don't love the Japanese voices.

99% of the time when a dub is better, it's because the dialogue is better. DBZ is the only anime I've ever enjoyed the dub more than a sub purely because of the voice. I watched DBZ on Cartoon Network as a kid, it was always dubbed and I got so accustomed to how everyone sounded that when I first heard Goku's voice (some of the others bothered me slightly, some I preferred subbed. Goku was just the big one for me), where he sounds like an insanely overexcited 15 yr old girl, that I honestly thought it was a fucking joke. Just one of those things that rubs me the wrong way and most likely because I watched DBZ dubbed for 10 years before I even bothered watching anything subbed, which was one of the movies, can't even remember which one.

I usually enjoy the Japanese voice actors more (with a few exceptions). I just hate how bad the writing is on some subbed anime compared to the dubbed. Watch FMA Brotherhood or Deathnote with the subs on (not CC, with the actual subs) while listening to it in English. It blows my bad how much better the dialogue is, how it flows, sentence structure, use of vocab etc... just everything. Once again, not the case for all anime, or even for most. I just don't think anyone should say Sub > Dub or Dub > Sub. Some shows are slightly better one way over the other, some are vastly superior one way or the other, and sometimes it's such a non-factor that it amazes me lol.

Probably my biggest beef with a few subbed shows was the casting choices for the super bad mother fucker. I hate when you've got this guy who's just the epitome of fucking shit up and then they end up sounding weak or have a screechy voice, that shit drives me insane. If someone is playing a bad mother fucker, make sure they have a bad mother fucker voice lol.

No clue. How is that at all relevant to the conversation?

So is this going to be played only on youtube?
Or are there other ways of watching it?

I watched the 1st on youtube, was cool. I love how the "bad guy" destroys half a planet. Quite sure Goku has such strenghts (in other ways), but would never do such a thing.

Gokus japanese voice fits him perfectly. He is basically just a really big child that likes the simple things in life, eating, training and fighting. But he can also get serious when need be. Also king kais japanese voice is fucking amazing, that is one of the reasons I will never go back to dubbed dbz, fuck whoever thought not casting the same voice-type for king kai was a good idea.

Kai I agree with. I just can't see how that Goku voice works for anyone lol, it just completely kills the character for me.
