Funny thing is, that is EXACTLY what you're doing - bashing him because he has different standards than you (and calling his taste in movies "trash" is doing just that, BTW).

Funny thing is he has no standards though so this line of faulty reasoning doesn't work.

Again, you're faulting his standards (simply stating that he has no standards does not magically make it so).

That being said, I'm not taking sides as far as movie quality/standards go. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of bashing him for the same thing you're doing.

I think its not so much about the money as it is the convenience and privacy factor aswell. i like watching movies just as much as the next man here and dont mind paying to see a movie. however like others have pointed out theaters are not always a good experience. got kids or even adults kicking ur seat or causing a commotion next to you, sometimes the audio is to much aswell. lately iv been feeling robbed when i go to the movies im paying for the 3d effect but most of the time its not much different then a 2d movie just some scenes pop out.when g/f and i go most of time its a 60$ night after you get ur tickets and buy your food. id rather save that and watch it at home for free and have a more enjoyable time. i think they should just get rid of theaters all together and just give people the option to buy and stream from home shit most people have a good entertainment setup these days anyways. if they did that im sure many people would just charge 15-20$ to their monthly bill to watch it at home i know i would. there is always gonna be bootleggers if they stopped releasing films overseas earlier than north america it would help solve the problem alot.

So I know people who watched a shitty cam version of Avengers 2 before seeing it in the theatre. I think this robs them of the unique experience of seeing it for the first time on the big screen as it was meant to be seen.

I can't imagine it's as gripping seeing the city lifted into the sky on a shitty picture. My jaw dropped at the shot over Iron man's shoulder watching buildings crumble and topple in glorious IMAX 3d. They can never have that experience of not knowing what is going to happen and being blown away by gorgeous CG.

I also think it's morally wrong to rip off someone else's work as well as destructive to the movie industry. Don't complain about investors and studios not wanting to gamble on different ideas if you're not willing to pay for the end product. If you want more original ideas to get off the ground there needs to be profit.

I agree , its not worth 20$ to go sit in the worst chair and a filth covered floor in order to pay 5$ for 5 cents worth of popcorn and to not have a pause button.
The pause button is really the greatest invention of Cinema , that and my LED curved screen = they are like cinematic crack.

"Its a popcorn movie!" "Turn your brain off!" "Its fun" "Its supposed to be campy!" "Its an action movie!" etc

All these phrases mean are that you can't accept the fact that movies can be fun as well as intelligently made, but you opt to watch brain rotting trash.

Your opinion is irrelevant.

So the fact that I enjoy the avengers means all I enjoy are action movies that apparently "rot my brain?"

You're making terrible assumptions.

I have to agree with this. High art and blockbusters are not mutually exclusive, it's possible to enjoy both.

Thank you for an intelligent thought. There is too much over criticism over movies created for entertainment.

When a quality movie comes along, I sure as hell appreciate it. The theory of everything was probably the last movie I watched that was of high quality.

$10 here for reserved seating
Atmos surround sound
Wall to wall. Floor to ceiling AVX

guaranteed better than your led curved screen besides the pause button

Btw going to the movies is something to do
It's a social outing

You can also drink at home too for 1/5th the price at bars, pool halls, or restaurants

You can cook at home for 1/5th the price

You can do a lot of things for cheaper but you go out to socialize

Even if you invite friends over, maybe their friends won't want to and overall it's still a different experience

Silly homebody
