Taste is subjective
There's no poor taste
Agree to disagree? I've met countless people that enjoy mindless garbage and only mindless garbage. These are the same people who didn't enjoy Inception or Interstellar because they were "Too complicated". Disliking either of the previously mentioned movies doesn't mean you have bad taste. Disliking them solely because you couldn't understand them, does however make you an idiot. Arguing that people who line up and hype out for every new Adam Sandler or Kevin James movie, or the people who will sit there and debate with you passionately about Michael Bay's latest "masterpiece" don't have poor taste is unreasonable and a testament to stubbornness. You can argue that it's all subjective, but the fact that I've never met a person with an IQ over 90 who thinks that way, does create a strong argument that some people do indeed just have horrible taste in their sources of entertainment, and that it generally goes hand in hand with being below or well below average intelligence. The other thing that I've found intriguing is that almost all of of these moviegoers share the same inexplicable passion for wrestling. Which most people with half a brain consider to be the dumbest form of sports media offered to the masses.
Anyways, I'm not saying you're stupid, or that the majority of the people on this forum are stupid. The Wire was the better show imo, but it is debatable, it's not like The Shield was complete shit. I just don't understand why or how anyone can or would argue that people are incapable of having bad taste. Some people just enjoy shit and only shit. From personal experience, it's people who are incapable of understanding anything that's not 100% straight forward with explosions, cheesy dialogue, and phoned-in performances by lazy actors who are paid entirely too much. Not trying to start a flame war, talk down to you or anything of the sort. Just thought I should clarify my previous statement a bit more. I'd love to hear if your experience has differed, or if you just haven't had many interactions with people like this. It does seem like the latter would be incredibly difficult as the majority of moviegoers today seem to prefer two hours worth of non-sensible explosions over anything even resembling a coherent and/or feasible plot.

Ahh, that explains why the Wire made lots of money B)
What didn't you like about it? I'm just curious. The acting was on point for a TV show, the plot was intriguing, character development was above average, and it apparently resonated even more deeply with people who've actually lived in Baltimore. Seems like they hit a lot of difficult marks. I get that some people just don't enjoy certain shows, and that doesn't mean you have horrible taste or anything. I'm just curious and hoping for a bit of an explanation as to what exactly made this show so horrible for you.
