So basically doves is overly passionate about his vision of what marvel movies should be and we should all avoid paying for them.

I loved all of them. No shame. I liked every x-men movies.

Hated the first fantastic 4.
liked the 2nd.

Liked the first spider man.
Tolerated the 2nd.
Hated the 3rd.

Loved both amazing spider mans.

Kinda liked avengers.
Loved thor movies.
Fucking loved every iron man movie.
Hulks were meh.
Loved captain america movies, especially the 2nd one.

Loved wolverine origins.
Wolverine in china was meh.

I saw all of those in theater and I only regretted paying for the third spider man.

Those aren't Marvel movies man. They have marvel characters in them. They are owned by Fox and Sony. The only good movies being made with Marvel characters is Disney. Which I find hilarious. But, it's not that hard really. People there just had a vision and actually care about getting right or not...

I guess it's so much easier for me to see how crappy something is when I can pick up a 24 page comic book and watch it blow the fucking 2 and 1/2 hour movie out of the water. It's pretty comical actually. But, meh. Whatever.

What is comical is the fact that you just prefer the comic over the movie because the images are standalone compared to motion... big difference.

Basically you are like the people who read books and criticise the crap out of movies because they miss something etc... I think these type of people are being pidantic. Nothing wrong with their opinions or
their views, but, maybe they should consider the differences first and cost to produce something close enough with motion. Note: every reader has a different concept when reading a book, so there will also
be difference of opinions with each reader at times... their own perception.

Not dissing you in anyway, I just think you need to take a break, we have all heard it before, and not just from you.

How the fuck could you like Origins? I'll admit that I've enjoyed some of the Marvel movies but Origins was one of the worst movies made in the last decade.


Second Fantastic Four is in the same category lol, both of those were horrible excuses for a movie.

Wrong, I just see the writers in the comics coming up with better stories and dialogue than anyone making the movies right now. It really is sad...

Then my interpretation of comics I have read and the movies coming out have been trying to stay on track originally.
Even Aeon Flux tried to stay to the original storyline from the comic series [I know, not the same right]

My younger brother is an avid Wolverine / Xmen fanatic and actually talks highly of the Movies, including the Avengers, Transformers etc.
Oh note... he is a comic book geek even at 39 years of age [he is my younger brother and from another mother... we have the same dad]

Maybe it is interpretation... quite honestly, there has to be mahem and destruction... even in the new / latest Superman Anime etc, there is more and
more destruction to cities and death galore.

Your brother honestly sounds like someone who just enjoys everything. That's good and all for him but it won't sate the rest of us who have standards. I don't think Doves will ever be content with what they're making now as compared to what his vision of a perfect film adaptation would be. I'm a little bit more willing to adapt and allow for Hollywood to make some changes for it to become fit for the big screen. I however do not condone and will not support lazy and stupid films. The Transformer movies have all been both lazy and stupid with so little substance that it's impossible for even most average moviegoers to leave feeling satisfied. Not everything imo that's come out recently has been trash but I don't know why there is so much acceptance for mediocrity when it comes to these type of movies. I mean it's pretty rough when they come out with multiple movies every year and I can still count the ones I'd say are actually good-great on one hand. A lot of have been mediocre and we've accepted them and a lot of them have been terrible.


I just feel that we should hold something that a lot of us cherish (Things I/we grew up with) to a slightly higher standard than we do the average trash that gets pushed out every year.

I used to watch transformers. Honestly, what substance are you expecting from a transformer movie? The good transformers fight the evil transformers, that's as far as I've ever seen from the cartoons or the 3d thing with the animals.

I think it's us who should stop thinking the stuff we liked as kids had so much depth and substance. We loved it as kids, but it was aimed at kids, meant for kids and, in the case of the transformers, the main aim was to sell toys. Ninja turtle was mostly the same. There's absolutely nothing sacred in any of the childish stuff we watched in our youth.

Now that we're adults, don't expect them to still be aimed at us, because it is not.

Edit: I've watched and read again a lot of the stuff I used to consume as a kid, in some kind of insane nostalgia trip the last few years. Honestly, seeing them through the eyes of an adult, I can't stand to watch most of it anymore. At some point you get older, forget the pink tainted glasses, and move on.
