I agree 100%
The fight between Ned/Jaime and their men was pretty weak, and the sword fight between Jaime/Brienne was even worse. The show would definitely benefit from putting their actors through some training with swords and sword fighting.
Not only that, but the stupid mistakes as well.
Now, with the fight in the tavern, at one point two henchmen stand over the Hound, swords in hand. One proceeds to kick him, the other goes for an overhead swing. What ever happened to good honest downward stabbing? Not to mention the fact that all henchmen come at him one by one (a flaw in 99.9% of movies so don't sweat it guise).
Something else most directors don't seem to realize is that most swordfights are over in the first few swings. From what I see in most movies/shows the actors try to hit each others swords to make it look like a fancy duel. That shit don't play.
