Or maybe...they make stupid decisions cause that's what a lot of women do?

The job of a good show is to develop a character enough to the point that we can understand why they make the bad decisions they make. Even when people make bad decisions, there are reasons in their brain why they are doing it.

If a character does something that is inconsistent with what the show has developed for their personality, then it is an idiotic moment in the show.

I re-watched it and while Piper makes stupid decisions it is never trite. It's a slow mental breakdown of her character because she isn't coping with prison well. By the end of the first season she tries to grab a hold of anybody who will care for her because of her loneliness. The unintentional and intentional rejection by the people she loves makes her do some stupid things, but at no time do I think to myself, why did Piper do that?

Overall I have my problems with the show, but they are so minor they aren't worth mentioning and gave it 4 stars on Netflix. Do I like it better than a lot of the other hour long dramas I like? No, but it's certainly not close to the bottom of the list either.
