Thought it was fine at it is, wasn't its approach meant to be a bit of a bit of a clinical mystery, every man is an island, don't get too close to anyone. Idk, just worked well.
For me that soprano dude was one of the highlights of the film. Unusual, solipsistic drunkard hitman. Unexpected as the lifestyle and that kind of world.

Good film.

I agree about it being a damn good film. I like the idea of each man being an island. I was going to rewatch it soon, it had a visceral quality I can't get over.

That's a fair reflection in mu opinion, 'every man is an island' fits. And clinical mystery.. I probs viewed it expecting a slightly different experience, I visioned an American 'snatch' 'lock stock' film which this was far from.. Idk talking about it makes me want to watch it again I suppose!

snap on the soprano highlight as i said i loved his character :D

:/ I'm probably the biggest fan of Korean films on this forum. I agree Park Chan-Wook is fantastic, I just don't think he's on Kubricks level. Besides, Joon-ho Bong is better.

The Koreans stand alone in the revenge business. If you're having trouble finding other Korean movies that aren't murder thrillers I'd suggest The Thieves (2012) It's a south Korean heist movie that's a ton of fun. The Host is another great Korean movie that's not a murder thriller, it's actually one hell of a monster movie which is pretty rare these days.

As far as my favorite Kubrick movie goes, I don't really have one. It really just depends on what I feel like watching.

> Kim Ki-Duk (Maybe check out 3-Iron), but I prefer Joon-ho Bong too over Park too.

Sang-soo Hong and Chang-dong Lee seem promising, liked Oki's movie and Shi (Poetry).

I seem to be only one who isn't that into Korean revenge. Liked exploitative and over the topness of I saw the devil but The Chaser and Man from Nowhere were nothing special.
