I guess I'm the only one who saw the attack as just Meh stuff. I'm like, get that Hollywood action flick out of my politics, murder, and betrayal show lol

you're experiencing the transition that the show must take. The enemy never was other men, that was simply a setup to allow for the narrative that those who hate each other can always band together against a common enemy. Without the political upheaval the others wouldnt stand a chance, King Robert would have sent 1 million dragonglass arrowheads and 50k men north to the wall with ample supplies. The politics are a necessary red herring meant to distract the people of westeros from the actual plot that is going on out of sight.

napsterz0r picked the right quote to answer that question :)

Assuming things continue to follow the books, Cersei is in much better shape than the people who have lost to her at the 'game of thrones' (ned, robert), so I don't feel bad for her.

But really I hope they get back to the scene where she got her fortune told as a kid. The big reveal from that prophecy goes a long way to shaping Cersei's outlook on life, and I feel like we are missing a big chunk without it.

It depends on the story arcs, Arya is still behind the books, and bran is still stuck in book 4. He's literally not cast in this season, so my guess is they'll do some major catching up about him in the next season, along with explanations of the war between the children of the forest and the Others.

bran's story line will continue in next book... tbh, he has one of the most boring story lines in the book as you can see from the show (they made it slightly more interesting by shortening it haha)

When I first read the books, I've always skipped chapters sealing with pike or the wall, keeping them for my second reading. In the end, in books 4 and 5,i skipped the pike chapters entirely, all these clowns are, is natural selection waiting to happen.

Even on the second reading and the following ones, I barely just read enough to refresh pm facts, it's a part of the story I wish they had cut completely. The only reason those so called monsters are any threat is because they invade a divided land, and a land stuck with lower dark ages mentality. Otherwise, they're honestly underwhelming, getting killed at the first touch of obsidian or valyrian steel, their minions falling over at the first touch of fire.

And John Snow, arg he's one of the most bland characters I've ever read in my life! Worse than drizzt, frodo, aragorn, Hermione, or any of the array of Mary Sue characters who are 100% good, compassionate, logical, good leaders, never make mistakes, barely just a little bit doubt themselves, just for appearances. He's almost as boring as his father was, but at least Eddard was dumb enough to make him believable and a slightly bit interesting.

Basically, all that would be needed to stop the long night if the wall falls is a mobile archery unit on horseback firing arrows with lit wildfire, with a few archers armed with obsidian peppering the white walkers. That's it, no need for tend of thousands of soldiers using siege engines to throw huge wildfire bombs at their ranks lighting entire fields on fire, or tens of thousands of disciplined soldiers with obsidian swords dipped in wildfire, or even just normal burning oil, in solid formations kiting those clowns around back and forth through fields of fire (all within the souths means). Oh right we haven't even brought 3 dragons into the equation yet.

When the only reason the ultimate bad guys are a threat is the good guys being stupid and divided, I'm getting bored quick, the rest of the story is so much more interesting.
