Im not 100% sure what part of the comics the "terminus" is going to be but i assure you that it wont be anything with rainbows and unicorns. All the upcoming comic book arcs to choose from that it could be are all rather dark. Good news is that if it is what i think it is we may finally get to see carl take on the comic book carl persona instead of the whiny teen bitching and moaning persona he has had in the show. Kirkman plans on bringing Negan and his group in eventually. With the talk of terminus and the sanctuary on the horizon, it's fitting.
If you know who Negan is or what Sanctuary is, you're in for some fun times.

Kirkman said that Negan will most likely not be in season 4. But didn't write it off.

They're introducing a brand new character that is based on a comic book character but with a twist, they're naming this guy Gareth.
Is Gareth the Negan incarnation? or is it someone else? Either way with terminus right around the corner, Negan or a Negan like character will most likely play the antagonist for season 5.
Gareth isn't a minor role either according to his interviews. So we'll have to see what they do with this guy in the final 5 episodes.

They're also bringing Morgan back.  In what capacity, who knows.

So we have the Hilltop Colony, Alexandria safe zone, the Kingdom, and sanctuary in the comic. There's also washington D.C.
And we have the hunters that may or may not make an appearance.
Though following the hunters story arc will be kind of interesting given that one of the main characters for that was killed off a long time ago.
Then we have terminus, aka the sanctuary, whether this is sanctuary as in the comic, or the hunters in the comic or something completely different, who knows.
Can't wait to see what they do.

Keep in mind, they said that abraham is built directly from the comic and that rosita and eugene are pretty close to the comic, so this is most likely the direction they're going in.
