Is it actually? I've yet to watch it yet, but from the clips I've seen it looks nowhere near as good as GoT

I feel like the only way to enjoy HotD is to be the type of person that's into marvel movies or something. In other words your benchmark for what qualifies as good has to be so low that this is what makes the cut.

It really doesnt. There are superhero movies/shows that are at least as good or better than HotD. I watched it because I enjoyed GOT quite a bit and wanted to see if it would even partially live up to expectations. It did not. An entire season wasted on "build up" for something established in episode one. Fuckin show used the word "duty" so much I thought it was actually about shit instead of just being shit.

Anon (2018 - Netflix) Rewatched it, still holds up. There's some good lines. Really really like the way the tech is displayed feels plausible. Story is perfectly interesting. There's some plot holes and sometimes it's a bit slow but overall idk it just does what I want.



Elysium pretty comfy dystopian movie. Little preachy at times but overall good. I'll check out Lou if youre saying it's good, didnt even see it on the recommended.

I have no idea what youre trying to prove by quoting that post lol.

As a starting point we can separate media into two categories: media meant to be strictly entertaining and media that has themes and depth and meaning. Fast and Furious vs Andrei Rublev. ATHF vs The Wire. I'm pretty comfortable in admitting I dont have a high brow understanding of films and I often miss the subtleties that others might catch or understand. But I will confidently say that I know entertainment and HotD is fucking boring and the themes they've insisted on cramming into the story are obvious, uninteresting, and repetitious. They could have just made HotD a medieval gorefest with dragons and titties but somehow they missed the fuckin memo that nobody in their right mind wants a show about a bunch of unlikable retards talking for 8 hours about who is king mixed in with 1 hour of babies being born, 30 minutes of battle, and 30 minutes of miscellaneous other bullshit.

Cope all you want this show fuckin sucked and is a major letdown even if you had tempered expectations.
