The show sucked major balls. Season finale and the best you can do is ANOTHER birth scene and ANOTHER "I'm injured and cant walk good" scene? At least 20 minutes of completely wasted screen time on the birth and aftermath. Also I didnt get a chance to properly rip into the last episode but let's start there. Whys the eye patch retard just not kill his dipshit brother? He apparently always goes into town to do shady stuff and you cant have him taken out during one of those outings so that you can be king? All these characters are all bark and no bite. Same with Daemon to some degree. Lmao @ him choking out Rhaenyra cuz she starts talking about horoscopes but also goes to the beach and breaks down cuz his kid is stillborn. Also the cripple guy with the bee logo has a foot fetish now? Look bros I'm gonna level with you - if I'm out there murdering people for some chick I better get to lick those toes bust my nut ON HER FEET I dont give a fuck if she's a queen or the president or whatever. Also Rhaenys breaking through the floor and killing a bunch of people was completely retarded too what's her problem actually. If youre gonna just dip out and do nothing just use the fucking door what in the world lmao. Also why are the guards trying to close the doors on the crowd what the fuck?

To some degree even og GOT crutched on shock value but HotD is much more blatant about it and the execution is way worse. It's all the little details in the show that piss me off and ruin the immersion. Why does Daemon think his brother was murdered by the queen? Your leper brother was dying for like 20 fucking years, why would she strike now the dude was legit FALLING APART I cant believe he lasted as long as he did. It should be no surprise he's dead now. Murdered? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO ya okay cope harder. Why the fuck does Rhaenyra need to tell her kids her dad is dead while she's mid child birth? Why do we need to listen to her screaming during child birth while they're talking strategy? Why did Lord Baratheon even let the eye patch kid take off on his dragon knowing full well what would come of it? Why does Daemon put two guards in front of a dragon and ask if theyre loyal? What do you think would fucking happen? "Oh well now that youre asking Daemon, I think Rhaenyra ISNT queen please torch me thank you!!!" What a fucking retarded scene. They could do so much better by giving him the choice to go back to Kings Landing if he's loyal to the fake new king - and then fucking torch the dudes boat that shit woulda been based. Whys the kingsguard guy interrupting a funeral for the dead baby to give her the crown and announce his fealty lmao, dawg read the fuckin room. Fucking stupid missed opportunities, lazy dialogue, wasted screentime on bullshit nobody actually cares about, predictable as fuck plot, etc etc etc.

Final edit: Overall I'd rate the show on a good day a 6/10. An entire season spent on build up and very little action. I barely care about any of the characters and even tho Rhaenyra and Daemon are leading the pack that isnt saying much. I've been watching The Expanse lately and it really puts it into perspective how poorly HotD does some things. Almost never subverts audience expectations, character development is pathetic, sets/costumes are decent, cgi is just okay, acting is just okay, story is meh, the list goes on and on.

The bolded is my biggest issue. Shows can have issues if you're highly invested into the characters and its passable. Unfortunately, this show has not been able to get me invested in any characters. They all seem so unlikable. They do a fine job with antagonists, there's lots to choose from there that I want to see torched and you would think by defult that would mean theres protagonists I'm cheering for but that isn't the case. They can all be torched.

Yeah I agree… the characters don’t hold a candle to GoT’s characters. I think Aemond is kinda interesting. He’s a decent villain, but still shows some obvious compassion when accidentally killing his nephew Jace. Daemon is alright but has cringey moments. I’ve gone back and fourth on Rhaenys, Rhaenera and Alicent, at times I feel they can be okay characters, and then the shows remind me they’re dip shits who aren’t interesting at all.

Otto, Corlys, the foot masturbator dude, the Lannister twins, pretty much everyone else irk me. I’m not sure if it’s their characters themselves or the weak acting skills of the actors portraying them, but they do nothing for me at all.

Phenomenal finale and a great season.

For me this was slightly better than season 1 of GoT.

That had some epic and shocking moments. Ned stark execution, Tyrion arrested and trial by combat with Bronn, Rob Stark calling the stark banners then outsmarting and cutting down all Lannister forces and capturing Jamie

Plus all the dialogue and acting, everything was absolutely perfect.

The only thing I liked more about HOTD is the early story line
