What made no sense exactly?

Tom has been working for the buddies of the old NSA guy since the start, assisting Berlin. They've known each other, I presume they might have worked with each other as much as against in the past, depending on the conflicts of interest. It's been obvious from the start that they knew each other though.

Edit: even now they're not working together, that secretive group sent Tom to gather proof that Reddington really has something on them, that's all. And if he's been in their employ for a long time, well so is Reddington in a way, so it's logical they must at least have crossed paths.

They already explained everything. I'm willing to explain better if people have questions though that aren't answered by my post above

Oh I get the whole aspect that Tom might of been working for the head of NSA. But during the whole season one and two (up to date), Red has always said; be carefull with your husband. And Tom has always said; Red, isn't who you think he is.
Also, the episode of her step fathers death, Red sat next to Tom and they had a conversation, Red threatened him. That scene showed us that they wern't working together, if they were, there was no reason to talk all cryptically to each other.
So what your saying is that Red and Tom have worked together in the past, long ago and Tom was keeping that part secret from Keen.
And I'm guessing Tom didn't know who Red was exactly, due to his plastic surgery. Idk if ppl have picked up on this, but 2-3 episodes now they've mentioned it. I believe Reds face has been changed greatly.

He probably was working for that entire group rather than for him directly, or at least that would be my guess. At the very least, we know for a fact he's working for them now, because he's who they sent to collect proof of Reddington's sword of Damocles over their head. Both of them working in the same circles, I'm guessing they must have crossed path a lot, and it wouldn't be surprising if they both knew each other's secrets. In fact, we don't know yet why red abandoned his family avand his carreer in the military (he was being groomed into becoming a general), or why his house burned to the ground all these years ago, or if it was even connected. But if Tom has been working for them, I bet he knows it all and he's who the authors will use to show us. As for red, he knows everything about everyone, I'd have been surprised since the start of he didn't know more about Tom.

Earlier Tom said to a Reddington cronie that he's working for someone who's car more careful and meticulous than red. That can't have been Berlin, this guy was the complete opposite of that, and in the end defeating him was easy. He must have been meaning that secretive group as well.

As it is, we have no proof that they ever worked together, only that they know each other very well, but everything points to them having worked together in the past, there's been so many hints there's not even any need for a, proper reveal by now.

iirc, we don't know for sure that's what he gave them. we're just assuming it is. he could have owed tom something else, now that tom got free.

After reviewing the scenes, I have to admit it's technically possible that I might be jumping the gun on the bolded part. Still, I'm pretty sure that's how it is, it's what seems the most logical to me.

I just can't wait for February to see my theories confirmed or disproved

The finale was kinda misleading.

Tom & Red working together. [not shown in show until then]
Tom & Berlin working together. [shown in last episodes]
Tom & "S" Society working together. [no known evidence that I noticed]

Manipulation / Subterfuge[sp] in the show and also represented to us, the audience.

By the way... is Keen really Reds' daughter? May have been drunk when watching a few episodes, but I do not recollect actual confirmation, just
subtle hints and scenes that verify this.
