weren't the white walkers marching on the wall seasons ago, but they're still not here yet?

yeah this happens at the end of season 2, there's a whole army of them marching past sam, but then they dissipate afterwards or something?

Sam and the other Night's Watchmen were posted at the Fist of the First Men. Which is still quite a ways away. Last season they were at Hardhome. They probably plan to gather all the living wildlings into their armies before marching on the Wall.

um the first of the first men is rather close to the wall, and sam manages to travel half way around the world in this time.

but you see my point right, like hardhome is a dead end in the wrong direction, they shouldn't have shown them moving with as much purpose if they're still doing the exact same thing four seasons later
