still got a couple episodes to go, but i'm going to jot down by thoughts so far before so much time passes that i forget what i was going to say

I really haven't been impressed with S2. Obviously I expect more to happen in the finale, but a great finale doesn't necessarily make up for the bulk of the season being bad.

below are spoilers
-------------------------
Issue #1 - It feels like the second half of S1 of Prison Break. They show just keep manufacturing 'fake drama' for cliffhangers then resolving things in a very cheap way to return to the status quo.

examples:
The main cliffhanger from S1 was Del's death - they conveniently sidestep the conflict by killing a random henchman we don't care about
Marty runs across the Kc mob - Buddy just happens to be old friends with their leader, he resolves the problem by "vouching for Marty"
An episode ends with the Snell's car running into a blockade and getting torn to pieces by many automatic weapons - next episode begins with the unharmed driver conveniently swinging around the blockade and the only result is one minor gunshot wound which heals in 1 day
The only deaths so far have been Buddy and Mason. But those characters were so far gone that their death was long overdue. Their deaths were almost like "anti-deaths". There was no element of dramatic twist in them.

The amount of actual plot development so far has been minimal. Yes, some things have happened. But mostly things just go back and forth and end up the same.

Issue #2- The trite, overused plot devices make me cringe.

At the start, they buy tickets to a formal event hosted by the rich guy in order to get contact with him. What is this, a Bond movie?
Wendy is kidnapped and tied up, but she "needs to go to the bathroom" so he has to untie her hands. What is this a Bugs Bunny cartoon?

I expected more from a cutting edge show that has Breaking Bad in its rearview mirror to build off of.

Issue #3- Ruth and Wendy are not pleasing to look at. Charlotte WAS super hot in S1, but so far in S2 she seems to have gotten uglier. I actually had to look up the cast list to see if they switched actors for the character.

The only saving grace here is that Rachel is decent and then there's the occasional shot of a stripper. Overall, pretty lame.

Why would this be a reason you don't like a show? If you have a hankering to see some beutiful women, use google. How many gorgeous women do you think there are in the actual Ozarks? Or missouri as a whole. Of anything, using a less attractive cast helps people pay more attention to the story/acting.

Me too.

Anyone else think the daughter looks like a caveman? She's almost pretty, but somehow that makes her look ugly as fuck to me.

No

I think she is quite attractive and ruth is weirdly attractive

Look in the mirror if you want to see a caveman

Finally finished it up. As expected, the end featured more development. But overall, I feel like the show is just jerking us around.

*One of the big hooks of S2 was Ruth's father joining the fray. But at the end he goes out quietly. The whole arc of the Langmore family this season was fairly minor (Ruth gets deeper into the business, Wyatt learns the truth of Russ' death).
*Just as the FBI guy is leaving the picture, then he finally dies. It would have been a huge death if it had happened anytime prior to that.
*Then of course they just leave things on a major cliffhanger, wrapping up basically none of the major plot points of the season.

The most interesting character is Jonah. Though I don't feel like its realistic the show would go long enough for him to blossom into the true criminal mastermind. So the show won't really get to the payoff for all his good development.
