Nothing about the movie made sense. And I don't mean from the viewing perspective. From the universe perspective, character perspective etc not a whole lot in the movie made sense.

A very basic example is the technology used, if it was a prequel to alien why was the technology better?

I mean yeah from a 4th wall breaking perspective it is because our technology is better but who cares about that when you are making a movie where you should want to keep continuity of the universe intact. They could have very easily made the sets similar to the alien sets but everyone working on the movie is a fucking idiot that didn't care to ask if what they were doing would make sense so they made a bad movie.

Perhaps we have a different definition of the phrase. I felt it all made sense, it was just poorly done and stupid. Something can make sense and be simultaneously idiotic, that's what this entire film was.

How does that make sense at all? You are on the very first human vessel to do intergalactic space travel and you have that attitude? They ripped that scene almost line for line from alien. In alien it made sense because they were some random mining crew, skiing a thing that is just a basic job at that point in time. In Prometheus it makes absolutely no sense. If you are some asshole that is only there for the money why the fuck would you apply for the job? The are easier ways to make money, and how would you even get accepted for it? Was there no vetting process?

He applied, sure fuck it let him join! Sorry what's that? Background check? Are you crazy! There is no way we will get enough applicants for a once in a life time exploratory space travel mission, we can't afford to be turning people down!

From the perspective of a character in the movie universe almost nothing that happens makes sense.

There's too many unknowns to say it doesn't make sense. Perhaps he's the most qualified person on the planet, but he's only interested in doing work that pays absurd amounts of money since he's bored with the job.

I had better examples in previous posts, don't feel the need to repeat myself though. Either way it still doesn't make much sense. Every single character is supposed to be some pinacle of humanity scientist but they all act like 1st year college students or worse.

People at the top of their field are generally egomaniacal aholes who act like children, it comes with being the best at anything. Once again, it makes sense, it's just bad/lazy writing.

Why does everything in the starwars prequels look more advanced if it's 20 too 30 years in the past? Oh ya, because that's how shit works in movies. Once again, another stupid thing to get snagged on.

It was a shit movie because the characters were awful. It was impossible to relate to any of them and any reasonable person would be rooting for their deaths. The story was bad and clunky. Another one of those movies that seems more concerned about selling sequels, than producing something of above average quality right then. The writing was mediocre at best. Not the worst I've seen, and superior when compared to almost all summer blockbusters (superhero movies, Michael bay etc..). Finally, it all just had a forced feel to it. There was no suspense or care, I was never on the edge of my seat, I never front concerned about any of the characters and for the entire last hour, I just wanted it to end and didn't care about the outcome at all.

People seemed to love it though and the critics thought it was at least good. The only things I found enjoyable in the entirety of the film, were the visuals, which were stunning, and Fassbender's character for a short period. Even his dialogue turned to shit at a certain point and his actions became nonsensical and outright stupid.

Sounds like you watched a re-edited illegal copy of the film put out by a rival company meant to poison the well of perception, good job falling into their trap.
