Can I ask a serious question?

If you had never seen a new hope, would you still think TFA was a "bad" movie?.....honestly, try to answer that rationally.

TFA nearly ruined the franchise for me so my expectations are extremely low

Then I would say you're not a fan of Star Wars as both movies scored 9/10

It would be slightly better but still not nearly as good

Point is, i've seen it . So it literally feels like ur watching a ripped off movie with different cast.

remaking a movie is 1 thing, but making a "new" movie that feels like a remake is another.

Movies deserve to be rated and viewed as a stand alone.

People wanted a Star Wars movie because they were upset with 1-3.

People are upset because new Star Wars trilogy is too much like 4.

People are always unhappy.


I don't know why they specifically made it quite similar, but I am more than willing to see how the entire trilogy unfolds, because that is a fair way to view it.

In a literal sense, why wouldn't a force build a star killer.....seems like the appropriate way to rule the galaxy (puttting aside major defensive flaws).

There are other things that can be nitpicked, but let the whole trilogy unfold.
