Shows get way more character development

That is so incorrect it is actually astounding. English voice actors are generally pretty bad, English dub voice actors are basically the bottom of the barrel of bad. Watching a show in its intended language with the intended voice actors provides you with a much better idea of how the characters are feeling throughout the show/film. Also, unless you have the reading level of a fucking 7 year old you shouldn't have issues reading subs and paying attention to the show.
