The relationship between Anakin and padmae should have been her tempting him, the temptation which would end with him turning to the dark side. Not him being a creepy motherfucker the entire fucking time and essentially forcing her to be with him.
Anakin was supposed to be the best Jedi ever, turned and corrupted by the dark side. But the prequels basically change him from a "it was honestly a surprise he turned" into a "how the fuck did no one see it coming*.
The entirety of all 3 movies were shot in green rooms, and it shows+feels like it.
George basically had no fucking idea what he was doing when he made 4-6 but he had so many people helping him that miraculously the movies turned out great. For 1-3 he got rid of all those people, it isn't even surprising that the movies are so fucking bad.
I am also 100% convinced by the jar jar sith lord theory and I think Lucas pussyd out of doing the reveal when jar jar was hated on so much. Which in my opinion makes the movies even worse because he fucking catered rather than doing his vision.
1-3 are basically an exercise in tricking multiple target audiences into giving you money, they did a fantastic job at that. Sam Jackson for the black teens, Yoda for the old fans, Natalie for the horny teenage boys, etc. He catered to as many people as possible to sell as many tickets as possible without caring about the story.
