to try to mention living/recent people. i really like christian bale because he did a super hero movie and i can still see him in movies after it without thinking "batman"
he really gets you trapped into whatever character he is. everytime i see rdj now i just think oh its ironman or if i see chris evans, even though i liked snowpiercer he was just captain america as someone else.

seeing how bale was mentioned a dozen times already.
james caan is someone ive always liked. his bio is pretty interesting. he couldve been godmode status but turned down a legendary amount of roles. no idea why but he was solid af in the godfather and in misery.
and PSH, Phlip seymour hoffman RIP

Currently I think the best actors out there are Mads Mikkelson, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Wilson, and Gary Oldman. There's a lot of actors who have had great careers and even current ones more decorated than the few I've listed. But I think these guys always push the envelope and dive into really great roles, and subsequently deliver.

As for females, it's a bit of a toss-up for me. Charlize Theron or Emma Stone are my current go-to's. Charlize is classic, elegant, and has done some killer roles. Even towards today. And Emma Stone reminds me of what Lindsay Lohan could have been. There's a lot of potential and good acting.

Have to give it up for Casey Affleck. He has really impressed me in all of his films since gone baby.
