Well that was completely different, talk about travelling down a path into bizarro world - I think that story was like a hypothetical fable kinda making fun of "traditional" fables - whatever those are, lol. Certainly was totally opposite to every other episode probably.

That's how the orginal series was though, 2-3 episodes progressing the main story, then a really weird, monster-ish filler episode

I liked it just because I hate watching tv when it's so predictable, I think it was a fable about not falling victim to your own pre conceived notions and that when you do, you're unable to perceive the truth.

I would have rather they stuck with the regular narrative instead of repeating the same thing from before. When you have a limited run, you can't really afford to have filler episodes. While the episode was great and highly nostalgic, we're looking at least 2 more of them with such a limited run and that may hurt the show.

Don't like this filler...only unless they are planning something beyond these 6 episodes

I guess everyone expects that "series" is going to be one continuous logical story in order to lend itself to binge watching. But with the return of the x-files, I found the new shows were reminiscent of classic weekly shows where you really didn't know what to expect week to week. It was a nostalgic look down memory lane, sorta trying to fill in the gaps. I found the final episode delivers and closes the story nicely. Thanks Mulder and Scully, happy trails.

This mini series assassinated mulder's character completely. Maybe alright for the masses with no expectations, but anyone who was expecting something will leave this return disappointed.

They should have just let it be, the show had ended perfectly fine.

yeah people change over 10 years, and accepting your own expectations as just your own is a limitation for many. For example, let's say on Friday your Mother always makes Tuna Casserole.
One Friday you come home for dinner and you get a few hotdogs, and you're like wtf? Do you say:

A. Friday is always Tuna Casserole day, I refuse to eat this plate of crazy.

or

B. Oh, I get it, I'm a lazy bastard for not cooking my own dinner and expecting you to do it every time.

So did the show Assassinated Mulder's character - or was your impression of what Mulder believed just put into a different perspective?
